Brief Reviews: Gelato

This post is going to start short…but I hope it will get reallllllly long…

Hotel Gelato

Apparently Hotel Gelato is a restaurant, but I’ve just tried the gelato. It’s a very classy establishment- I love the ambiance. Overall, I was pretty impressed by the pricing and quality ($4.75 for a two-flavour cup I believe– I know it seems like a small amount if you’re used to getting ice cream, but for gelato in Toronto I thought it was pretty generous).

They have a good flavour selection, and of course there are samples! We sampled the Vanilla Sponge Toffee and Salted Caramel, which were good but nothing “wow”. We tried the Chocolate Hazelnut (tasted like Ferrero Rocher) and Espresso (a really delicious combination), the Lemon Ricotta (unbelievably creamy but not quite zingy enough) and the Mojito (if you love this drink, this lime-mint gelato is a perfect nod to it).

I’d go back. 🙂
